Faction History

The Zerbino Crime Family originated in Liberty City in 1921, founded by Don Vencenzo Zerbino. The strong morals and forceful anti drug business caused him to grow popular, the “Do it right or don’t do it” method made him prize worthy, but the strong violence streak, and impermeable arms dealing stroke fear in everyone’s heart, from city officials to back ally hoodlums.

Then in the early 1940s Don Zerbino expanded, and expand, he did. Through the 1940’s and early 50’s Los Santos became his playground, getting into the movies and expanding his never ending arms dealing empire, cracking down on drug dealers and extorting city wide.

After becoming the dominating Criminal Empire in both Liberty City and Los Santos, he set out to control San Fierro for its prime docks and harbors, through the mid to early 1960’s he made his presence known, crippling the Asian Yakuza and Triad factions by squeezing there drug lines out, provoking a short violent war. A treaty was met and as usual, Zerbino’s slice of the pie was larger. By this point, the Zerbino Family was getting a lot of nationwide attention, he was seen on the news regularly, and some considered him public enemy number one, others, a complete saint…

He soon expanded into Las Venturas. Having a hand at turning it from the desert wasteland from the 40’s and 50’s into the booming recreational retreat in the 60’s to today. In the mid 1960’s he built up a multimillion-dollar casino and partnerships with many of the strips hottest casino and hotels. He supplies the city with guns from his abandoned airstrip in the desert.

The Don soon decided to take a break, his heart condition made the stresses of war too much, and the holidays were painful since his wife divorced him in the 60’s and took his son off to Sicily. He lived until 2008 when he died of cardiac arrest in front of his steakhouse. He was 97 years old.

His only son, Rocco Zerbino is 43 years old, he has rightfully taken his father place as head of the family’s empire, and his mother disowned him for following his father’s wishes. Can he prove to fill his father’s shadow?
